A reference folder or local folder would be fine for your build environment. The installation is more about the integration with the designer and developer tools.

Do I use the install to deploy this to my build / production servers? Or should i be able to simply copy the appropriate dll’s to a reference folder?

Where in the file system the toolkit installer installs the file? The installer gives no indication where the installation ends up. I can’t find the installed files.

@Dave,
I don’t know what the timeline is, other than later this year (calendar year 2009). Personally, I have moved forward to mostly Silverlight 3 Beta development, but my msbuild environment allows me to still build Silverlight 2 bits thanks to this technique: http://www.jeff.wilcox.name/2009/01/independent-silverlight-msbuild/

Maybe this is the wrong place to ask this, but…

Do you know what the timeline is on the SL3 test period? I’m writing a new site and I’d like to do the whole thing in SL3, but my timeline is end of June.

Also, what is the easiest way to run sl3 on the same developement machine I am running sl2 on?
